Matthias Le Goff, en olympisk mester på tampen av karrieren, kommer med en homofobisk uttalelse på TV. Som «straff» får han i oppgave å trene The Shiny Shrimps, et særdeles fabulous amatør-vannpololag. Det eneste dette laget er opptatt av om dagen er å kvalifisere seg til Gay Games i Kroatia, som er der alle de hotteste sportsutøverne konkurrerer mot hverandre. For både Matthias og lagmedlemmene blir dette starten på en reise som absolutt har sine humper i veien, men også mange uventede gleder.

Mathias Le Goff, an Olympic champion nearing the end of his career, makes some homophobic statements on TV. As «punishment» he is ordered to coach The Shiny Shrimps, a particularly fabulous amateur water polo team. The only thing on this team's minds is to qualify for the Gay Games in Croatia, where all the hottest athletes compete against each other.

For Mathias, as well as for the team, this marks the beginning of a journey with its definite ups and downs. A colorful and glorious feelgood film, very much in the spirit of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
